Bible Readings:                                                   
David Seeks to Serve God:  1 Chronicles 29:1-3, 9-20
Serving God through Serving Others:  Philippians 2:1-11
The Servant King:  John 15:1-15

Hymn 11 – Tune 6:  Hearts of Love
·        Even though David did many wrong things, he had a desire in his heart to serve God
·        David also encouraged others to seek and thank God for His goodness 
·        If we have a heart to serve God we will want to offer a sacrifice of righteousness to Him through obedience and serving others
·        We should ask God to cleanse our hearts so we can live in accordance with the lifestyle He has set out in the Scriptures 
·        As David sought to build the Temple for God, so we should offer ourselves in spirit and soul and body to become the Temple of God at Jesus Christ’s return.

David Shows Grace to Mephibosheth:  2nd Samuel 9:1-13

God’s Grace Extends to All:  1 Corinthians 15:19-28

Hymn 103 – Tune 96:  Access through Mercy
·        God created us for His glory, but Satan, our enemy, tries to turn us away from God
·        Through God’s Grace He has a Plan to deliver all from Satan’s power
·        David’s favour to Mephibosheth is a type of God’s favour towards us
·        Jesus will lead all captive to God, and God has promised gifts (grace) to all
·        Those who eat forever at God’s Table will be made brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ, and will be preserved in spirit and soul and body and made like Him at His return
·        Let us seek for perfection, and for God to show the fullness of His Grace in us.
