Hymn
26: Joyous Peace Promised
·
Jeremiah
was persecuted for standing up for right; his own family turned against him
even though he was a Prophet of the Lord – but he kept God’s Law in his heart
·
He
was delivered from the well by someone who was not a fellow Israelite, but who
was motivated by concern and compassion
·
His
delivery was helped by the use of material that others had discarded, which was
used to provide comfort in his rescue
·
God
seeks to deliver us from the pit of sin and death into which the devil pushes
us all; God’s delivery is through faith, truth and love –traits which in many
ways are becoming discarded by the world
·
God
will raise us up and set our feet on the solid Rock (Jesus Christ) as we look
forward to the New Heavens and New Earth that He has promised
·
Jesus
said, “If a man keep my saying he shall never see death” – we believe it as we hold
His promises in our hearts and await His return and the fulfillment of God’s
Plan.
