·     A lot happened to Israel between the first Passover and Pentecost

·     Israel were on a journey to refocus and re-invent themselves as a nation

·     Like Israel, if we recognise God’s role in our lives, focus on His work, accept His direction and accept His strength, we will achieve his plan for us.

·     We can be God’s special people of promise.

·     The Time is Foretold: Joel 2:1, 12-16, 27-32

·     A Promise from Jesus:  John 14:12-21 

·     Ascension and Outpouring:  Acts 1:1-11, 2:1-21



Hymn 3:  God’s Plan – God’s Time

·     Joel foretold a time of a great Outpouring of God’s Power

·     Jesus confirmed that there would be a Special Comforter sent to prepare God’s people to do His Will

·     Forty days after Easter Jesus ascended to Heaven and is awaiting God’s time for His return

·     The Holy Ghost (Mother Spirit) descended on the disciples at that Pentecost showing a type of what will happen in the last days

·     As we travel from Easter to Whitsuntide let each of us seek to God to prepare us for the fulfilment of His promises of forgiveness, obedience and redemption through the Power of the Holy Ghost

·     The Israelites were instructed to come together three times a Year

·     Easter is at Passover and Whitsuntide at Pentecost

·     The Disciples moved from despair to power between the crucifixion and the “coming of the promise”

·     As we travel from Easter to Whitsuntide are we seeking God to prepare us for the fulfillment of His promises

·     May each of us seek to God to understand the path He wants us to walk as we wait for the return of Jesus Christ.

·     There are promises in the Scriptures of the glory that God will show in those who are alive and obeying His instructions at the return of Jesus Christ.

·     Jesus said he who loseth his life (to this World’s pleasures) shall find it (in the lasting pleasures of the Heavenly World), and he who findeth his life shall lose it

·     Are you prioritising your allegiance to the Heavenly World as we await the return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom here

·     There are promises in the Scriptures of the glory that God will show in those who are alive and are changed at His return.

·     Freedom of choice set before us - Deuteronomy 30:15-20

 ·     We too must remain vigilant when living in a wicked, pagan society.

·     We must maintain our morality and help each other keep a high standard

·     Jesus Christ’s resurrection is an important part of the Christian message

·     We are Gods temple and there is a life beyond (after) this life with many glories - including a life without death at Jesus’ return

·     God gives us freedom of choice… what are we going to do with it?
