Hymn 34:  Work of the Holy Ghost

·        Jehu suppressed Baal worship – but used subversive techniques to do it!

·        People continue to ride on the misfortunes of others

·        Joash undertakes reform, but does not make a full commitment

·        We must present ourselves wholly to God if we are to receive the fullness of His promises

·        God’s Kingdom will be all encompassing, a win-win outcome for all – evil destroyed and good prevail

·        Do you have a true, real and personal belief in God’s Authority over your life?

Hymn 79:  Walk in the Light

·        Moses had warned Israel not to be influenced by the gods of the land they invaded, to turn away from God

·        The good new – the lineage of King David crosses back from Judah into Israel so that both Monarchies have descendants of David

·        The bad news – both nations turn further from God!

·        There is timing in God’s Plan and ultimately He will rule over all

·        There are promises for a remnant of Israel to return and worship God, but more importantly for each of us as individuals to follow His commandments.
