Hymn 14 – Tune 6:  Jehovah Rules and Reigns

·     The Ultimate Battle is that of good over evil, God over Satan, of life over death

·     The Lord first needed to come and establish His Authority over sin and to reconcile mankind to God, but then He will return to show His Power over evil and Satan

·     At Christmas we remember His first coming, in a humble way, but His return will be mighty and victorious

·     As we wait on the Lord, we should seek to understand His expectations for each one of us in our daily lives – this is how we engage in the battle

·     We believe there is a special blessing shown in the Scriptures for those who will be preserved alive in spirit and soul and body and be changed wholly at His return; they will be living witnesses that God has won the battle over sin and evil within the lives of those who fully trust in Him.

·     God miraculously fought the battle for them, and they did not have to fight

·     Jesus said what ever we ask for in prayer, believing, we will receive

·     We must ask God to win the battle between good and evil in us and seek to be delivered from evil so that Satan will have no power over us

·     We live in a time when we can pray to be preserved in spirit and soul and body to be kept alive until Jesus Christ returns and see the devil’s power globally overcome by God.

Meditating on God's Word

Outline of Service 27th October 2019

Supplementary Service

Meditating on God’s word – Psalm 1:2

Due to unforeseen circumstances the scheduled Outline was not used, but this supplementary outline based on MEDITATION was presented.  The same hymns as per the initial Outline were sung.

Hymn

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 1: 1-6 - For strong foundations

Bible Readings:

·     Joshua 1: 1-8 - To know what’s right

·     1 Tim 4: 1-16 -To shape our minds

Hymn

·     The Bible encourages us to “meditate on the law” and consider God’s instructions to us for how he wants us to live

·     Meditation can bring us relief, understanding, and greater self-awareness.

·     Even a small, simple meditation practice can lift us up from the ‘every day’, help us to develop our relationship with God, and help us to become the best versions of ourselves

·     When Jesus Christ returns, will we be mentally ready to be part of his Elect?

The Battle is the Lords: Lord, Open the Eyes of these Men

Outline of Service 27th October 2019

The Battle is the Lords: Lord, Open the Eyes of these Men

2 Kings 6:20

Hymn 105:  Give Thanks to the Lord

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 5:1-5:  – His Truth Endureth

Bible Readings: -

·     Winning through Perception:  2 Kings 6:8-23

·     Jesus Heals the Blind Person:  Mark 8:13-30

Hymn 115:  God Protects Those Who Trust in Him

·     God made the enemy willing to follow His instructions

·     Sometimes we only know some of the facts and something can appear to be quite different to what it really is

·     Jesus healed the blind man and he saw but only partially

·     We must each be open and wait for God to reveal the whole truth to us and not think He has finished if He is still teaching us

·     Paul spoke about the light of the Sun, Moon and Stars as representing different levels of understanding about, or relationship with, God

·     Having the assurance of the forgiveness of our sins is a reflected righteousness - like the Moon, a partial vision; being obedient to His Word is like the Sun - and seeing all things clearly.

The Battle is the Lords: Winning Without Fighting

Outline of Service 13th October 2019

The Battle is the Lords: Winning Without Fighting  Neh 4:20

Hymn 121:  God’s Unfolding Purpose

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 92:1-4, 9-15:  – The Lord Protects His People

Bible Readings: -

·     God Protects His Warriors:  Nehemiah 4:1-23

·     God Controls Circumstances:  Acts 23:11-33

Hymn 24 – Tune 22:  The Meek shall Inherit the Earth

·     Sometimes when circumstances seem to threaten us we think we will have to fight!

·     However, God is able to change circumstances to work in favour of those He is protecting, so we need to put our trust in Him and not dwell on thinking about how we might fight the battle.

·     Our physical nature is tainted with evil which Satan attracts and causes us to sin, and we must battle with this evil to remain faithful to God.

·     But - the battle is the Lords - He can change the circumstances, and by removing the evil from within our physical being, the devil will have no power over our actions.

·     Like Nehemiah’s army, on the one hand we have a desire to do God’s will, but also need the Sword of the Lord in the other to fight against Satan.

·     Let each seek to God to cleanse us from evil so that we can be obedient to His Laws and Commands and present our whole being (spirit and soul and body) to be ready to be changed and made like He is, when Jesus Christ returns.

The Battle is The Lords: Windows in Heven

Outline of Service 22nd September 2019

The Battle is the Lords: Windows in Heaven  2 Kings 7:2

Hymn 123:  A Personal Relationship with God

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 3: – The Lord Protects His People

Bible Readings: -

·     God Unsettles the Enemy:  2 Kings 7:1-20

·     God Can Control our Minds:  Acts 9:1-9, 19-22

Hymn 100:  An Example to Follow

·     Sometimes God works miracles and defies the Laws of nature, and other times He just pushes the boundaries!

·     With God we should not fear to believe the unbelievable – either in events or the changes He can bring about in people’s lives

·     The lord who did not believe did not partake of the promises

·     It took the sincere disciples some time to accept the changes God made in Paul’s life

·     We must always be prepared to put our trust in God when we ask in prayer for Him to do something for us

·     Jesus Christ exhorts us above all to develop a personal relationship with and dependence upon God and He will provide what we need

·     Sometimes prophecies about the end of this world order and the return of Jesus Christ may be difficult to understand, but we can still hold a hope to be preserved alive in spirit and soul and body to see the windows of Heaven open at His return, and be changed wholly and be made like He is

Hymn 6:  Heaven will Come to Earth

The Battle is the Lords: The Lord Fought for Israel

The Battle is the Lords: The Lord Fought for Israel Josh 10:14

Hymn 67:  A Personal Relationship

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 111: – The Works of God

Bible Readings: -

·     Help beyond Human Ability:  Joshua 10:5-14

·     Power from Above:  Acts 12:1-17

·     The Lord Provides:  Matt 6:25-34

Hymn 122 – Tune 123:  A Personal Battle

·     When we ask God for help He sometimes helps us using resources far beyond our control – like calling on the forces of nature (hailstones) to help!

·     Further, God is not restricted to “acts of nature” with which we are familiar, but can loosen secure chains and open locked gates

·     Jesus exhorts us to above all develop a relationship with and dependence upon God and He will provide what we need

·     It is through prayer and doing things for others that we will grow closer to God and receive His protection in the battle between good and evil

·     Let us ask God to give us understanding to believe in things beyond the limitations of this world as He prepares us wholly for the return of Jesus Christ to this earth.

The Battle is the Lords: Joshua Follows God's Instructions

Outline of Service 25th August 2019

The Battle is the Lords: Joshua Follows God’s Instructions – Joshua 3:5

Hymn91 – Tune 96:  Unparalleled Power

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 119:89-96 – God Looks After Us

Bible Readings: -

·     The Battle of Jericho:  Joshua 6:1-7, 10, 13-16, 20-23

·     Personal Instructions: Romans 14:1-13

·     God Does the Work in Us:  John 15:5-11

Hymn 24 – Tune 13:  Victory Comes from God

·     Sometimes we may not understand why God instructs us to do certain things, but if we do follow His instructions we will get the outcome He has promised!

·     God has set out a Life-style in the Bible which in many ways seems “strange” to the natural-man

·     As believers we must seek to follow the instructions God has given in His Word, and to do the things He puts on our hearts

·     God and good will win the ultimate battle against evil and wrong, but we need to present ourselves to follow His instructions if we want to be part of the victory

·     When Jesus Christ returns and the walls of evil which preclude us from fully knowing God fall, we can hope to enter His Kingdom wholly – in spirit and soul and body.

The Battle is the Lords: The Rod of God

Outline of Service 11th August 2019

The Battle is the Lords: The Rod of God – Ps 23:4

Hymn 104:  God is Our Refuge

The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 23 – God Looks After Us

·     The Rod of God: Isaiah 11:1-5

·     Depend on God:  Mark 6:1-13

Hymn 3:  The Time is Come

·     God will win the battle for us, but sometimes He requires a token acknowledgement to show that we trust in Him

·     We should seek for the favour of God to bless our lives

·     The Rod of God was a type of God’s Power shown through Jesus Christ who reconciled the World to God

·     In showing our faith in God we are holding up His Rod and He will continue to bless us and lead us as we go through life’s experiences

·     Those in whom the battle between good and evil will be won will be changed wholly, in spirit and soul and body, when Jesus Christ returns.
