The Lord’s Prayer from Luke 11:2-4

Psalm 100:  A Psalm of Praise

Bible Readings:

·     Sharing the Responsibilities: Exodus 18:1-8, 13-27

·     Appointing Leaders: Titus 1:1-2, 5-9

·     Stop the Gossip! Titus 1:10-11

·     Ensuring Truth:  Titus 2: 1, 7-14

·     Maintain Good Works: Titus 3:1-8

Hymn 118 (Tune 115):  Tried and Proved

·     God showed a blue-print for Church organisation when Moses set up a governance structure for the Israelites in the Wilderness

·     Paul gave guidelines for New Testament Churches in his Pastoral Epistles – 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus

·     Titus was written about the same time a 1 Timothy and lot of information is a cut-and-paste between them

·     Paul emphasises the need for appointing good leaders, stopping the gossip, ensuring that the truth is taught and the need to maintain good works

·     Whilst these principles apply to the Church as a whole, each of us should seek to apply them in ruling over our own temples – our own lives – as we await the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ .
