Bible Readings:                                                  

·     Promise - The Wise shall Understand:  Daniel 12:1-13

·     Power – An Ongoing Power:  Acts 28:1-6

·     Presence - An Available Personal Presence:  John 14:22-31 



Hymn 20:  A Personal Relationship

·     Daniel spoke of the Last Days when people would understand things which have been hidden

·     Paul demonstrated God’s ongoing Power in his life when he was not harmed by the venomous snake – working both inwardly and outwardly

·     Jesus had said that God’s Presence would be available constantly to believers – for ever

·     God’s Presence and Power are demonstrated both in physical events and in the peace that dwells in the hearts of those that trust in Him

·     The Holy Ghost will undertake an inward work of the heart within each believer to develop an ongoing relationship with God, to prepare God’s people in the Last Days for the return of Jesus Christ.

·     Moses felt inadequate at the burning bush - Exodus 3:1-15

·     Paul struggled to do what was right – Rom. 7: 1,12,14-15,19-25

·     There are many benefits – physical and mental – to being loved.

·     Some of the greatest people in the bible were imperfect, but God loved them and they went on to do great things.

·     God’s love gives us strength; our love for God gives us courage.

·     God’s love for Israel is seen in his ongoing protection and regathering at Jesus Christ’s return.

·     Can we live like we are loved? Can we have the courage to follow God’s path for us?

·     Israel were on a journey to refocus and re-invent themselves as a nation

·     Like Israel, if we recognise God’s role in our lives, focus on His work, accept His direction and accept His strength, we will achieve his plan for us.

·     We can be God’s special people of promise.

·     Joel foretold a time of a great Outpouring of God’s Power

·     Jesus confirmed that there would be a Special Comforter sent to prepare God’s people to do His Will

·     Forty days after Easter Jesus ascended to Heaven and is awaiting God’s time for His return

·     The Holy Ghost (Mother Spirit) descended on the disciples at that Pentecost showing a type of what will happen in the last days

·     As we travel from Easter to Whitsuntide let each of us seek to God to prepare us for the fulfilment of His promises of forgiveness, obedience and redemption through the Power of the Holy Ghost

·     The Israelites were instructed to come together three times a Year

·     Easter is at Passover and Whitsuntide at Pentecost

·     The Disciples moved from despair to power between the crucifixion and the “coming of the promise”

·     As we travel from Easter to Whitsuntide are we seeking God to prepare us for the fulfillment of His promises

·     May each of us seek to God to understand the path He wants us to walk as we wait for the return of Jesus Christ.
