Hymn 123:  Led by God

·        God gave the Commandments to Israel, and set out a life-style for them to follow to be His Special People

·        Disobedience has separated them and us from God

·        Jesus gave His life a sacrifice to reconcile us back to God, which we receive through grace

·        God’s life-style recommendations still remain, and it is to our own good to seek to follow them

·        God’s Israel in the Latter Days will be recognised by a willingness to follow His Laws and Commands

·        You must accept the sacrifice of Jesus to be reconciled to God, and then have the choice to follow His commandments to show your love for what He has done.

Athaliah’s wicked Reign in Judah is cut short, and Joash made King:  2 Kings 11:1-4, 12-14, 17-21

Joash undertakes Reform for Judah to Return to God:  2 Kings 12:1-3

·        Moses had warned Israel not to be influenced by the gods of the land they invaded, to turn away from God

·        The good new – the lineage of King David crosses back from Judah into Israel so that both Monarchies have descendants of David

·        The bad news – both nations turn further from God!

·        There is timing in God’s Plan and ultimately He will rule over all

·        There are promises for a remnant of Israel to return and worship God, but more importantly for each of us as individuals to follow His commandments.

·        Elisha received the Power of the Spirit of Elijah, and performed twice as many miracles

·        Jehoram, Ahaziah’s son, reforms a little, but continues an ungodly line of Kings in Israel

·        The same “Spirit of Elijah” from God (Christ and the Holy Ghost) is promised to awaken the World to God in the Latter Days

·        We have a Vision in looking towards the fulfilment of these promises

·        Do you have a personal commitment to help you “rise and walk” above the things of the World that try to keep you from God?

Hymn 133 (verses 1, 4, 6) (Tune 79):  The Line of David

·        While Israel was idolatrous Judah followed God and prospered

·        Jehoshaphat followed in the good ways of his father Asa along the Dynasty of David

·        The eyes of people are always on their leaders, and if the leaders are good there is prosperity 

·        This was true of Judah, and is true of those who follow Great David’s Greater Son today

·        Revelation talks of the coming Kingdom when those who follow the Lifestyle exampled by Jesus Christ will live and reign with Him
