Summary
of Readings
§ Humility includes recognizing God’s greatness, acknowledging our dependence on Him, and valuing others above ourselves
§ Humility and meekness are often complementary – humility being an internal quality, while meekness is more about outward behaviour
§ The KJV Bible describes Moses as being meek, but other translations refer to him as being humble; Jesus was clearly both meek and humble
§ God’s Promise is that if His people humble themselves and pray, He will hear, and answer their prayers
§ We should seek to be humble in heart towards God, and show meekness in our attitude towards others
§ Jesus said the meek shall inherit the earth – their bodies - to be fulfilled at His return, when mortal shall put on immortality.
